Load Shedding Disasters

The constant load shedding in South Africa is causing endless damage to home and business appliances, national telephone systems, business networks etc etc

For the last two days I have been without the internet and my router (2nd one in the last year) was damaged beyond repair, an expense I can ill afford and many thousands of others across the country.

I missed you all!

Please pray for South Africa.

Passionate Catholic. Being a Catholic is a way of life - a love affair "Religion must be like the air we breathe..."- St John Bosco Prayer is what the world needs combined with the example of our lives which testify to the Light of Christ. This site, which is now using the Traditional Calendar, will mainly concentrate on Daily Prayers, Novenas and the Memorials and Feast Days of our friends in Heaven, the Saints who went before us and the great blessings the Church provides in our Catholic Monthly Devotions. This Site is placed under the Patronage of my many favourite Saints and especially, St Paul. "For the Saints are sent to us by God as so many sermons. We do not use them, it is they who move us and lead us, to where we had not expected to go.” Charles Cardinal Journet (1891-1975) This site adheres to the Catholic Church and all her teachings. 1. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I personally missed your posts this morning and I wasn’t sure what was going on. I will certainly keep you in my prayers. Your blog is arguably the best that I have ever subscribed to. God bless you most abundantly for all the good work that you do.

    1. Dearest Greg – THANK YOU – what beautiful words and as you to suffer this Load Shedding nightmare, you totally understand, the horror we live in.
It is truly wonderful to connect with you. My friends and followers here are such an immense support to me in so many ways.
God bless you and your Parish, I will be adding you (and your Parish) to my morning list.

  2. Thank you for sharing this Ana.
I too had noticed your (wonderful) daily post missing from my inbox.
I had no idea. The “Public Safety Power Shutoffs” PG&E put us through in Northern California during fire season was bad enough. I can’t imagine what you all are living and working through.
Praying for you all down there… for your safety and your country.

    1. Dear Leane, thank you and bless you for your kind thoughts and prayers!
Yes we are suffering greatly – I no longer have young children but I dread to think of what families with little ones are going through.
And, of course, the cost of everything is multiplying by the day – then, buying fresh produce has become a dangerous activity – everything goes off within hours as cold storage, obviously has been compromised.
Our own fridges are off up to 4 times a day.
We are living in a state of distress and only, if we are blessed with faith, trust in God and wonderful friends like yourself, do we manage to survive.
May the good Lord smile upon you and your country too!
