Our Morning Offering – 10 March – Tuesday of the Second Week of Lent
This Is Our Accepted Time
By Fr Michael Gannon (1927– 2017)
This is our accepted time,
This is our salvation.
Prayer and fasting are our hope,
Penance, our vocation.
God of pardon and of love,
Mercy past all measure,
You alone can grant us peace,
You, our holy treasure.
Lord, look down upon Your sons,
Look upon their yearning.
Man is dust and unto dust
He shall be returning,
Lift him up, O Lord of life,
Flesh has gained him sadness,
Hear his plea, bestow on him
This is Our Accepted Time was written in 1955 by Sulpician Priest, Fr Michael Gannon. It is set to the 1609 tune, Weimar (Vulpius) by composer, Melchior Vulpius (c.1560-1615).
Being a Catholic is a way of life - a love affair "Religion must be like the air we breathe..."- St John Bosco
Prayer is what the world needs combined with the example of our lives which testify to the Light of Christ.
This site, which is now using the Traditional Calendar, will mainly concentrate on Daily Prayers, Novenas and the Memorials and Feast Days of our friends in Heaven, the Saints who went before us and the great blessings the Church provides in our Catholic Monthly Devotions.
This Site is placed under the Patronage of my many favourite Saints and especially, St Paul.
"For the Saints are sent to us by God
as so many sermons.
We do not use them, it is they who move us
and lead us, to where we had not expected to go.”
Charles Cardinal Journet (1891-1975)
This site adheres to the Catholic Church and all her teachings.
PLEASE ADVISE ME OF ANY GLARING TYPOS etc - In June 2021 I lost 95% sight in my left eye and sometimes miss errors. Thank you and I pray all those who visit here will be abundantly blessed. Pax et bonum! 🙏

Beautiful words. Annie I am so glad my most faithful lover is back.I was having a very dark day yesterday and, truly, was doubting my earthly circumstances, of my own making, were totally out of being ever resolved. I only opened my PC in resignation but when I saw you were back I could not stop the copious flow of tears that I barely could see and so I didn’t respond as I really needed that grace only you through our Virgin Mother can give. You are well come dear one. And just at right moment as many times before. Today’s’ readings and dailies supported on my resolve and strengthened me greatly such an awesome God we serve!

How beautiful Hughie – that in your desolation you found peace. May our most blessed Mother stay with you and our Lord bless you eternally. I have missed you too and your wondrous insights.
I am so sorry for the delay in responding – we are back with this load-shedding – yesterday for 6 hours!
