“There is a passage from the pen of a distinguished English writer on religious subjects (F W Faber, The Blessed Sacrament 1855), which is so wonderful that I am sorry that I can do no more than briefly trace the main line of his thought.
The Immaculate Virgin is with us.
We still enjoy hearing our fathers describe the delight felt by the whole Catholic world in the middle of the last century, when the ancient doctrine of Mary having been preserved from all taint of original sin, was defined as Dogma.
That doctrine is like the mountain spring, purer than the waters of Sion, from which flow all the other mysteries of the Incarnation.
The whole Church gathers around this source to gaze at it’s reflection in the clear deep waters.
Kneeling on the bank is the supreme Pontiff, the teachers who thirst for the truth, hasten to drink from the spring.
Mitred and crowned heads and humble children of the people, the poor and afflicted of all classes, a whole multitude of pious folk, stoop down, drink and rise again – sight is restored, Mary shines more brightly than before.
Look well, my brothers, at those waters.
They are the elements of the Precious Blood of Jesus.
They flow mysteriously in the sanctified breast of Anna, they appear again, transfigured into the blood of Mary, the fair child, the maiden of fifteen years, the Bride of the Holy Spirit.
Through the power of the Spirit that overshadows her, this blood gathers into itself, the elements of the Sacred Humanity of Christ.
Behold the Spring and then the Blood!
Oh, what a miracle occurs!
The Blood is already beating in the Sacred Heart, it crimsons the cheeks of the Divine Child – it is sweated out from every pore of Jesus, in His Passion.”

The more you show of this the more I know why he is a Saint. I see him as a Saint for the commoners.

Hmmm – I’m not sure about that although his background was a poor one. You probably mean not an intellectual but he has hidden depths. His enormous “Charity” “Love of God” shines through his every word and deed.

The more I read, the more I love this man. The depths of his love for Mary touches my heart deeply. This is the beauty of the Immaculate Conception, the greatness of the apparition at Lourdes that inspired St Maximilian to found the MI. Thank you for sharing. Ave Maria! 🙏💕

His heart is so true, so loving and so Catholic! As you say, his love of Mary is palpable.
There is a moment in the Catholicism series when Bishop Barron visits Lourdes, he pauses, focuses on the Statue in the Grotto and then says her words to Bernadette – “I am the Immaculate Conception” brilliantly done, it gives you cold-shivers. I have never forgotten that feeling.

Actually, I am in Northern Canada where access to things can be quite limited, however, I am really being well fed by your blog… I’m looking forward to every post you have on Mary. There is so much we still don’t know or understand about Our Blessed Mother… and if we studied all the dogmas and evaluated all written doctrines, I doubt we’d come to really know the mystery of her.
Also, is your name Ana or Annie? Would it be okay if I continued to share some of your work with my networks that represent MI worldwide? Could I tell them that you are MI as well? My networks aren’t very big, but I think others could really benefit from the work you do.

Hi again Nicole – thank you. I am very happy we can share St John together and as for Mary, you are so correct. I long to seek behind the veil too. It seemed so much simpler when I was growing up and the Sisters taught us to use her as our model of womanhood. Somehow, the innocence of a child’s mind grabs hold of Mary very easily.
It’s Ana – Spanish version. My Dad was Spanish and Mom Italian so it worked fine for them. AND please use whatever you wish and however you wish and YES, I am so blessed to be pulled back to the MI network through your work. We seem destined to be true spiritual sisters. I ask the same of you – to share your work?
May our Holy Mother Bless you and your family! And please consecrate your children to Mary – though I am sure you have already.

It’s so nice to get to know you Ana, I’m so happy to see how Our Blessed Mother has drawn us together. Before starting my own work, I was inspired by your work on Pinterest to pursue the desires being placed on my heart. I can’t believe I’m now talking to the “AnaStpaul!” Lol
Please use whatever you can, if you can use it… if not no worries. I love your work and want to draw attention to it; I can do this through MI. I feel there is such a need for catechesis in the world today; so many Catholics are not aware of the richness of their faith tradition. Other than devotion to Mary, catechesis also drives my work. Thank you kindly for being open to sharing.

I agree 100% about the lack of Catechises and knowledge of our most beautiful and rich faith. It is a great sadness.
