Queen of Heaven and Earth, Holy Queen:
Pope Pius XII established this Feast in 1954
with a Feast Day of 31 May.
However, this year, 31 May fell within the Corpus Christi Octave and, therefore, the Feast has been transferred until today, a week later.
In his 1954 Encyclical Ad Caeli Reginam – To the Queen of Heaven, Pope Pius XII points out that Mary deserves the title because she is Mother of God because she is closely associated as the New Eve with Jesus’ redemptive work, because of her preeminent perfection and because, of her intercessory power

St Maximinus of Aix (1st Century) The first Bishop of Aix-en-Provence, France, in the 1st Century. One of Christ’s seventy-two disciples and a companion of Sts Mary Magdalen, Mary Cleopas, Martha and Lazarus. In one account, Maximinus is called “the man who had been blind from birth.”
The Roman Martyrology reads: “In Aix-en-Provence in France, Saint Maximinus, who is believed to have been a disciple of Our Lord and to whom the beginnings of Christianity in this City are attributed.”
