Passionate Catholic. Being a Catholic is a way of life - a love affair "Religion must be like the air we breathe..."- St John Bosco Prayer is what the world needs combined with the example of our lives which testify to the Light of Christ. This site, which is now using the Traditional Calendar, will mainly concentrate on Daily Prayers, Novenas and the Memorials and Feast Days of our friends in Heaven, the Saints who went before us and the great blessings the Church provides in our Catholic Monthly Devotions. This Site is placed under the Patronage of my many favourite Saints and especially, St Paul. "For the Saints are sent to us by God as so many sermons. We do not use them, it is they who move us and lead us, to where we had not expected to go.” Charles Cardinal Journet (1891-1975) This site adheres to the pre-Vatican II Catholic Church and all her teachings. . PLEASE ADVISE ME OF ANY GLARING TYPOS etc - In June 2021 I lost 100% sight in my left eye and sometimes miss errors. Thank you and I pray all those who visit here will be abundantly blessed. Pax et bonum! 🙏

  1. Today, I remember in prayer the students and staff of St.Joseph’s School in the parish of St. Aengus in Tallaght, where my late husband served for a number of years.

Thank you for your work in pointing out this day of remembrance.

May all of us, in our many ways, work together to bring about the Kingdom of God under the care and protection of Mary our Mother and Joseph her spouse and guardian of the Child Jesus. What we do for one of the least, we do for Him.

  2. I did a little research on Wikipedia. The suggestion is that the term Aengus the Culdee is a corruption of the Irish term Céile Dé, which means according to Wikipedia Servant of God. I would translate it as Companion of God….

  3. How beautiful Anne Marie – how wonderful to know. Your dear one is much in your thoughts and prayers today.
Perhaps a moment of reflection for the Church Magisterium? We have Servants of God, what about a veneration “Companion of God’?

  4. Sorry…. that slipped away from me..
In Irish the word for husband is fear chéile ( man companion) and for wife is bean céile (woman companion)…. similarly céile Dé is companion of God. There is a lovely sacramental theme here….
