Blessed John Davy O.Cart. (c1490-1535) Deacon of the Carthusian Order, Martyr. Born in York in c1490 and died by being chained to a wall in the Tower prison, London and starved, until his death on 8 June 1535. Also known as – John Davies. Additional Memorial – 4 May as one of the Carthusian Martyrs of London. Blessed John was Beatified on 20 December 1886 by Pope Leo XIII.

St Maximinus of Aix (1st Century) The first Bishop of Aix-en-Provence, France, in the 1st Century. One of Christ’s seventy-two disciples and a companion of Sts Mary Magdalen, Mary Cleopas, Martha and Lazarus. In one account, Maximinus is called “the man who had been blind from birth.”
The Roman Martyrology reads: “In Aix-en-Provence in France, Saint Maximinus, who is believed to have been a disciple of Our Lord and to whom the beginnings of Christianity in this City are attributed.”
