Quote of the Day – 19 September – The Feast of Our Lady of La Salette
“If my people will not submit,
I shall be forced to let fall
the arm of my Son.
It is so strong, so heavy,
that I can no longer withhold it.
… ‘Six days I have given you to labour,
the seventh I have kept for Myself –
and they will not give it to Me.’
It is this which makes
the arm of my Son so heavy.”

This feast of OL of La Salette was one of my conversion points about 8 years back. It was She who led me to my spiritual father, St Padre Pio. I cannot imagine what life would have been if not for Mother.

Ana, just yesterday I was telling one of my children than in times of trial, I am so glad that have the Mother of God and so many saint-friends to turn to for guidance and wisdom and comfort. Many people already do that with their own friends and loved ones, so, yes, I don’t always understand why devotions to Mother Mary and the saints seem to set some people off. I know we have Jesus and we have Him for all time, but in a family, each member will have something to offer for the communal good, and for me, being able to rest myself in their hearts and to receive their giving means a lot. Besides, none of them, not the Mother of God and not the saints, have ever kept me for themselves. The deeper my devotions to them, the closer they take me to God.

Yes Caitlynne our Mother our Hope! And the help and inspiration of the Saints is an immense gift and blessing from God.
I do know, that in the Afrikaans Church in South Africa – in their ‘catechism’ – I have seen and heard with my own eyes and ears, that they actively teach the so-called ‘evils’ and ‘idolatry’ of the Catholic Church, They call us ‘Die Roomse Gevaar’ – ‘The Roman Danger!’
