Thought for the Day – 30 October – Prayer and Our Lady

Thought for the Day – 30 October – Meditations with Antonio Cardinal Bacci (1881-1971)

“The Month of the Most Holy Rosary”
Prayer and Our Lady

“O Mary, my Mother, obtain for me that spirit of prayer which will keep me always close to God.
I know that sin can never conquer me if I remain united to God.
I know if my heart is filled with the desire of Heavenly gifts, there will be no room in it for useless or sinful affections.
I wish to follow your example and live a life of prayer and recollection.
But, I am very weak and unstable.
Please obtain for me the gift of constant and persevering prayer and grant that I may never lose it.

Antonio Cardinal Bacci

Passionate Catholic. Being a Catholic is a way of life - a love affair "Religion must be like the air we breathe..."- St John Bosco Prayer is what the world needs combined with the example of our lives which testify to the Light of Christ. This site, which is now using the Traditional Calendar, will mainly concentrate on Daily Prayers, Novenas and the Memorials and Feast Days of our friends in Heaven, the Saints who went before us and the great blessings the Church provides in our Catholic Monthly Devotions. "For the saints are sent to us by God as so many sermons. We do not use them, it is they who move us and lead us, to where we had not expected to go.” Charles Cardinal Journet (1891-1975) This site adheres to the Catholic Church and all her teachings. PLEASE ADVISE ME OF ANY GLARING TYPOS etc - In June 2021 I lost 95% sight in my left eye and sometimes miss errors. Thank you and bless you 🙏

  1. I have this month began what I pray will be a continuing habit of saying the rosary daily. On Thursdays, my Sacred Heart day, the mysteries are: I am the Bread, John 6; I am the Good Shepard,John 10; I am the True Vine, John 15; I am the Way, John 16; We are One, John 17. Thanks be to God for our Blessed Mother and the Rosary. Hugh, convert.

    1. Oh what a glorious Mystery is our Faith and what a great grace is the Blessed Mother’s Holy Rosary.
Thank you for those Reflections from John Hughie – I must save them for our Daily Family Rosary. No matter where we are, i.e. out of town etc, we phone in and say the Rosary together.
A wonderful help on our road to sanctity. 🙏🤗
