You …..are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation …..1 Ps 2:9
REFLECTION – All the children of the Church are priests. AT Baptism, they received the anointing that gives them a share in the priesthood.
The sacrifice that they must offer to God is completely spiritual – it is themselves……………..St Ambrose
PRAYER – Holy Father, teach me to offer myself to You with all my thoughts, words and actions. Let me also exercise my “common priesthood” by faithful participation at Holy Mass and in all my encounters with my neighbour. St Ambrose Pray for us! Amen

This made me recall something in Jesus’ farewell discourse. He said to his dsciples (us) were given to him by the Father and that he will not lose any of them and will raise them on the last day. He ended up giving himself to the Father – and when we offer ourselves along with him, we let him offer us as gifts back to the Father. It is an amazing thought that we are so valued as to be gifts shared within the Trinity.

Aaah – so wonderful to imagine that receiving Holy Communion too is receiving the whole Trinity!

Yep, we hold the Heart of the Trinity to ransom. One little baby is more powerful than the entire Universe.
